Alvin Kamara was drafted by the New Orleans Saints back in 2017 in the 3rd round as the 67th overall pick after finishing his college career in Tennessee.
Must-Have Card Investments
The Saints have definitely made the most of their 3rd round pick on this win, with Kamara going on to quickly become one of the best running backs in the NFL, helping them to 3 playoff appearances in his first 3 years.
Top Alvin Kamara Rookie Cards
Kamara split reps with Mark Ingram Jr. during his rookie year but still managed to put up some massively impressive numbers. His ability as a receiver as well as a running back meant that he quickly became an indispensable part of the Saints offense.
In 2017 Kamara rushed 120 times for 728 yards and 8 touchdowns as well as catching 81 passes for a further 826 yards and 5 more touchdowns
2017 Alvin Kamara Panini Contenders Rookie Ticket Autograph RC #353
Always one of the best rookie cards to look out for, this Kamara edition is as good as it gets. Kamara is doing what he does on the right (running with the ball) and the rookie ticket is in the left. The Autograph is on card at the bottom.
Top Investment: Patrick Mahomes Rookie Cards
The card was distributed as an insert at a ratio of one every Panini Contenders case and therefore is rare but there are some out there to get your hands on. It is already a very expensive card, and if you want to spend even more money there is a ‘Contenders’ version which is serial numbered up to 15.
2017 Alvin Kamara Panini Prizm RC #291
The 2017 Panini Prizm set is now an absolute staple of any collection. The Alvin Kamara card features him with the ball wrapped in both arms, wearing the iconic Saints uniform starting a run. The border features a typical Prizm design and changes color depending on which parallel it is.
There is a slew of parallels ranging from the unnumbered base up to the 1/1 black finite, with loads in between so there really is a card for every collector regardless of budget.
There is also an autographed set that features a different design and a load of parallels all of its own. The autograph is down at the bottom of the card and these cards are expectedly more expensive than the unsigned counterparts.
2017 Alvin Kamara National Treasures RPA RC #195
Another staple of any serious collectors, the National Treasures cards always have a great simplistic design. It is a horizontally printed card and another that features Kamara in full Saints uniform running with the ball in his hands.
Hot Investment: Zion Williamson Rookie Cards
Kamara is on the left of the card just above his on-card autograph and the patch is on the right-hand side. The design is doubly (accidentally) pleasing on this card as the gold National Treasures branding fits in well with the Saints color scheme.
The base card is serial-numbered to 99 and you will have to shell out a fair bit of money to get your hands on one, especially a mint condition copy. If this is not enough for you there are also 10 rarer parallels that you can spend a fortune on if you really want to.
2017 Alvin Kamara Panini Spectra Radiant Rookies Autograph Patch #7
There are a fair few different Panini Spectra cards that could have been chosen here, with there being a real mixture of the autographed, patch, both, and plain cards available. All of which have similar print runs and similar values.
This one was chosen for its pleasing aesthetics. It is vertically printed, which does not happen all that often with cards that have both autographs and patches, and also features Kamara in an away uniform which makes it slightly more unique. Kamara is on the right running with the ball, the patch is to the right and his signature is below the patch.
Top-Rated QB Investment: Best Joe Burrow Rookie Cards
There are just 50 of these cards in existence which means again you will have to dig deep into your pocket to get your hands on one. There are again a few rarer parallels to keep your eyes open for that will likely sell for even more money.
2017 Alvin Kamara Panini Donruss Optic Rated Rookie #199
Just like in his game, Kamara has absolutely everything you would want in his rook cards rounded out by the Donruss Optic set. It again features Kamara in black and gold Saints uniform carrying the ball, but this time evidently posing for a photoshoot rather than during an actual game. It features a very colorful typical Optic design, that changes depending on what parallel it is.
Unlike most on this list that may be out of the price range for most collectors, the base version of this card is not unreasonably expensive. Do not worry though if you like your high-end cards, there are also parallels with extremely short print runs that have very high values.

Bottom Line?: Alvin Kamara rookie cards are a good but not great investment
Kamara is one of the most exciting running backs in the NFL right now and his rookie card value already reflects this. He has made the Pro Bowl in each of his first 3 seasons and looks very at home in the league. If he can carry on this form, Kamara will undoubtedly go on to be a true NFL great and accordingly, his rookie card value will rocket.
Although any investment might already require a significant outlay, any Super Bowl appearances or MVP awards (or dare I call it is early, future induction in the Hall of Fame) will see his rookie card value given an instantaneous boost
