Bradley Beal (06/28/93) is a shooting guard who currently plays for the Washington Wizards. Highly-rated as a rookie, he struggled in his first few seasons before hitting his stride in 2018, when he made his first-ever All-Star appearance.

He added a second All-Star accolade in 2019 and was hitting career-high numbers before Covid-19 caused the NBA to suspend the league in March 2020.

As he enters his prime, here’s everything you need to know about Beal’s various RC options, including three top cards and an investment report looking at the next few years.

Top 3 Bradley Beal Rookie Cards

We’ve gone through recent action data to bring you a list with three of the best Bradley Beal rookie cards on the market right now. His official 2012 RCs were produced by Panini, while there are also a number of Leaf options from the same year.

2012 Bradley Beal Panini Prizm RC #238 (buy on eBay)

Beal’s 2012-13 Panini Prizm card features a strong action shot of the player preparing to leap towards the net, with his eyes firmly planted in the sky and the ball in his hands. The background design is enough to make it stand out from the crowd, with a unique border and metallic grey background found on the base card.

In comparison to many modern-day Prizm cards, there are only three parallels available in the base set, which we’ll list below.

The Gold versions are exceptionally rare, but you’ll still be able to add a gem mint version of the base card to your collection without having to break the bank.

Parallels: Prizms, Green Prizms, Gold Prizms (/10)

2012 Bradley Beal Panini Threads RC #203 (buy on eBay)

Part of a set that has on-card autographs from 100 players in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 rookie classes, Beal’s Panini Threads mainly makes the list thanks to the addition of said on-card auto, which is found at the bottom.

However, it’s not the only notable aspect, as the background is designed to resemble a mini basketball court, and there’s an image of the man himself in a three-piece suit/Wizards hat combo.

It doesn’t have the pull of the Prizm brand, but it does have a signature, and a gem mint version currently sells for a similar price to the card listed above. It should definitely be on your radar if you’re in the market for something different.

2012 Bradley Beal National Treasures Auto Jersey /199 #153 (buy on eBay)

If you’re looking to step it up a gear, his 2012-13 National Treasures card can easily sell for a four-figure fee. As well as an autograph and a small serial number (199), there’s a massive swatch which takes up the majority of the surface area.

In keeping with the NT theme, the card is white with gold trim, and there’s a gold RC logo found just below the player patch. The action shot features Beal with the ball clutched in both hands, with his Washington jersey clearly visible.

It’s a definite winner if you’re thinking about investing in a premium Beal rookie card, and it’s sure to retain its value due to the short print run and the power of the NT branding. There’s also a range of ultra-rare parallels if you want the best of the best, which we’ll list below.

Parallels: Red Century Proof, Silver Century Proof (/99), Gold Century Proof (/25), Platinum Century Proof /10)

Beal was always highly-rated, coming in as the third overall pick in the 2012 draft. A year earlier, he won the Gatorade National Basketball Player of the Year, joining a prestigious list that includes the likes of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. He had a lot to live up to.

He did struggle in his rookie year, but the Wizards sorely felt an injury to John Wall which was never going to help a young Beal in his first season as an NBA starlet.

In recent years, a pair of All-Star appearances could be enough to earn him a future Hall of Fame spot, while he was hitting some of his best-ever numbers in 2020 before COVID caused the league to grind to a halt unexpectedly.

His rookie cards began to rise accordingly, pushing them up to become some of the more interesting options from the class of 2012.

The question is, will he be able to resume normal service following an extended break away from the action*, and does he have it in him to push for more silverware in the future?

*It’s also worth mentioning that he’s currently considering sitting out the rest of the season due to the coronavirus, which would surely scupper his team’s chances of claiming the eighth seed position.

Beal’s RC options aren’t the most costly considering his resurgence in recent seasons, while the stats suggest that he has the ability to continue performing at a high level for years to come.

With that in mind, we don’t have a problem if you pick up a Beal rookie card or two. There are options to fit almost every budget, and they’re relatively underpriced for an All-Star.
