It’s not the largest sample size, but he’s staked his claim to be the undisputed starter heading into the 2020 season, with a good winning start, solid leadership skills, and strong rookie numbers on offer for his team.
Here’s a list with a trio of the best Drew Lock rookie cards on the market, with card info and investment advice if you’re thinking about adding a copy to your personal collection.
Top 3 Drew Lock Rookie Cards
Drew Lock has a wide variety of rookie cards to look out for, so we’ve pored through recent auction data to bring you three of the best to look out for on the market right now.
It’s worth mentioning that the majority are already reasonably expensive, given the amount of expectation placed on his shoulders following a solid rookie year.
2019 Drew Lock Panini Contenders #104 (buy on eBay)
There’s no better place to begin than Lock’s 2019 Panini Contenders RC. There’s an image variation, so you’ll have to check whether he has one or two hands on the football in the action shot.
A strong photo of Lock is coupled with an on-card autograph found at the bottom, helping to drive interest from collectors who want to sign merchandise.
As well as the base Rookie Ticket, there’s a host of parallels including a Playoff Ticket and a Championship Ticket. They all have interesting backgrounds, so the choice is yours depending on your budget.
We like the look of the hyper-rare Cracked Ice parallels the most, although they’ll easily sell for an eye-watering four-figure fee if it has been graded professionally.
Parallels: Red Zone FOTL, Playoff (/99), Championship (/49), Cracked Ice (/23), Clear (/10), Super Bowl (1/1), Printing Plates (1/1)
2019 Drew Lock Donruss Optic Rated Rookie #153 (buy on eBay)
The 2019 Donruss ‘Rated Rookie’ is another great Lock RC to keep an eye out for. It’s bright and colorful, with the etched design helping the player to stand out in the action shot. He’s wearing his Broncos jersey, with a Donruss Optic logo in the top left-hand corner.
The addition of a large on-card signature is enough to make it one of the more expensive options on the market if you’re looking at PSA 10’s and above. It’s often disregarded in favor of RCs like the Contenders or the Prizm we’ll list below, but it’s a solid investment piece with a number of colored parallels that are also serial numbered.
Rated Rookie Parallels: Holo, Bronze, Green Velocity, Pink, Red/Yellow, White Sparkle, Aqua (/299), Orange (/199), Blue (/150), Red (/99), Orange Scope (/79), Purple (/50), Black Pandora (/25), Purple Stars FOTL (/25), Gold (/10), Green (/5), Gold Vinyl (1/1)
2019 Drew Lock Panini Prizm #304 (buy on eBay)
Lock’s 2019 Panini Prizm is part of the base set and comes with a large number of parallels that we’ll list below. They all have different backgrounds and border designs, with an action shot of the player with a football clutched in his hands.
The chromium finish is instantly recognizable and causes the player to stand out as he stares down at the camera.
There’s also a signed version to keep an eye out for, so the Prizm is a great choice if you don’t mind the lack of a signature. (On the other hand, it’s extremely affordable compared to the two cards listed above, so it’s a great entry-level piece.)

Drew Lock was seen as a prospect in basketball before making the switch to football, highlighting his natural athletic ability. He went 4-1 as a starter in 2019 and in the process, tied with legendary Broncos quarterback John Elway for the most franchise wins by a rookie QB. He’s clearly one to watch in 2020.
His numbers have been impressive so far, and the player looks set to continue receiving chances in 2020 and beyond. He’s unlikely to keep up his healthy winning ratio forever, but he’s one of the more interesting players to grace the NFL last season.
We’d strongly recommend checking out the rookie cards we’ve mentioned above if you’re on the lookout for a couple of investment options, as Drew could be a Lock (sorry) if he manages to perform half, as well as analysts, expect.
Many of his signed cards are already pricey, and that’s no surprise given his explosive start to life as an NFL player. Now appears to be the best time to invest, although you could look for a dip in form or a poor start if you’re hoping to pick them up at the very best price point.
