Marshawn Lynch (04/22/86) is a running back who is currently a free agent as of September 2020. A first-round draft pick for the Buffalo Bills, he most recently played for the Seattle Seahawks, and he won the Super Bowl with the team in 2013.

A five-time All-Star in two different decades, Lynch was given the nickname “Beast Mode” due to his direct style.

Marshawn Lynch Rookie Year Stats: 13 games | 7 rush TDs | 1115 rushing yards | 184 receiving yards

We’ve come up with a list that includes three top cards, as well as investment advice following reports that the player may finally hang up his cleats for the last time.

Top 3 Marshawn Lynch Football Cards

Lynch has just under 40 different rookie cards, as well as multiple signed options from later years. Earlier options tend to be more prized, despite the competition for your attention!

As such, top options include autographs and player patches, and they’re not as expensive as you might expect. We’ll kick off the list with one of the better Lynch RCs.

2007 Marshawn Lynch Bowman Chrome Refractor RC /75 #BC86 (buy on eBay)

The first card is arguably his most popular RC, especially when looking at the rare Refractor parallels. The 2007 Bowman Chrome features a lined image of Lynch, powering along in typical style. (However, you can’t really see his face properly due to a helmet being in the way.)

Popular: Best Michael Vick Rookie Cards

As the majority of refractors have low print numbers, they’re worth a fair price at auction, despite the signature being of the stickered variety. The bordered style does make it seem older than it is, but that hasn’t stopped collectors from snapping up the rarer versions.

Parallels: Blue Refractor (/75), Gold Refractor (/50), Orange Refractor (/25), Red Refractor (/5), SuperFractor (1/1)

2007 Marshawn Lynch Upper Deck Exquisite Collection /99 RC #131 (buy on eBay)

With a large multicolored player patch, a great on-card auto, and just 99 copies overall, this is clearly a premium release. His 2007 UD card has a landscape design to fit everything in, and has a picture of the RB as he flies through the air with a football in both hands.

It’s a striking card, and it’s more affordable than you might expect given the power of the UD brand.

2018 Marshawn Lynch Immaculate /10 #PP-ML (buy on eBay)

Finally, there’s the 2018 Immaculate. This grey and white card comes from Lynch’s time with the Raiders, with a large patch and an on-card auto, just like his 2007 RC. However, Immaculate is generally favored by collectors, so it’s already worth a similar amount to the card seen above.

Numbered to just 10 copies, there are also a couple of one-of-one parallels that are slightly more valuable.

Parallels: Gold (/10), Platinum (1/1), NFL Shield (1/1)

Marshawn Lynch Football Cards: Investment Advice

Lynch only came back to aid the Seahawks after they lost both starting running back Chris Carson (broken hip) and backup C.J. Prosise (broken arm) for the season in the same game, and the legend ended up moving into fourth place on the all-time postseason rushing touchdowns’ list (12).

For now, it seems like Lynch might be ready to retire for good, although there’s always a chance that he could sign with another NFL team during this season. He’s already called it quits twice, but he still seems to have a little left in the tank, so never say never.

It wasn’t a conscious choice to focus on Lynch’s rookie cards, but they are some of the more popular options overall. As we’ve noted, there are a number of signed cards from later years that could still do well from an investment perspective, so it’s not like you have to stick to his RC options to see a decent ROI.

With his retirement looming either way, now seems to be the perfect time to grab a potential future HoFers best cards before prices become too inflated. (He’s not a lock, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him added to the Hall of Fame soon, especially after making the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.)

Prices are low, his talent is high, and there’s always a chance that we could see Beast Mode again.
